Loren Kimono Sewing Pattern (Fibre Mood x MoMu)

This pattern was created as part of the European REEVALUATE project in collaboration with MoMu Antwerp.

From painted kimono to contemporary interpretation:

Loren draws inspiration from a traditional Japanese furisode, translating its distinctive long, flowing sleeves and rich patterns into a contemporary silhouette. The contrasting rever collar and double front pockets add a modern, functional twist, while the diagonal lines at the back accentuate the waist. The traditionally flat kimono silhouette is given more shape and structure, creating a unique design where Japanese tradition meets contemporary fashion.
